Zhao Yan achieved a score of 700 on her last mock exam and was happily sharing the news with her mother, dreaming of the future. However, Zhao Yan's second uncle and his family, along with her grandfather, burst into the house. Using the excuse of parental orders and a matchmaker's words, they forcibly arranged a marriage for Zhao Yan. The deeply ingrained patriarchal mindset of the older generation controlled their actions. Under pressure from the elders and the encouragement of her cousin, Zhao Yan was forced to marry a man from her village on the day of the college entrance exam. Fortunately, Zhao Yan's mother, a wise and loving woman, helped her break free from this binding fate and ensured she could go take the exam.
